Connecticut Durable (Financial) Power of Attorney Form

The Connecticut Durable (Financial) Power of Attorney is the state’s statutory form used to deliver certain powers to another individual so that they may act on behalf of the principal party. These powers can relate to the grantor’s property (real or personal), investments, debts, etc.

Statutes – Chapter 15c: Connecticut Uniform Power of Attorney Act (§ 1-350 – § 1-369)

Definition – “Durable” means, with respect to a power of attorney, not terminated by the principal’s incapacity (§ 1-350a(2)).

Signing Requirements – State legislature demands that both two (2) witnessing parties and one (1) notarial figure supervise and confirm the endorsement of the contract to validate the commitment (§ 1-350d).
