Colorado Limited (Special) Power of Attorney Form

A Colorado Limited (Special) Power of Attorney allows an individual to grant specific powers to an agent. Unlike broader POA documents, this form allows the principal to further define the agent’s authority. Once the powers are outlined, the principal signs the document to formalize the arrangement.

Statutes – Colorado Revised Statutes – Uniform Power of Attorney Act (§ 15-14-701 – 15-14-745)

Definition – “Power of attorney” means a writing or other record that grants authority to an agent to act in the place of the principal, whether or not the term power of attorney is used (§ 15-14-702(7)).

Signing Requirements – A notary must be present to validate the moment of the form’s execution (§ 15-14-705).
