Firearm Registration Forms

Mississippi does not compel residents to effectively register a firearm with the state or to obtain a permit before purchase. A standard NICS background check is only required for sales associated with a licensed dealer, and will not be necessary for private sales. Open carry is allowed in approved areas, and permitless carry is acceptable as long as the weapon is obscured within a purse or bag. There are exceptions to this rule, so make sure to check with your county sheriff to inquire about the specifics.
