Maryland Durable (Financial) Power of Attorney Form

The Maryland Durable (Financial) Power of Attorney is the form issued by the state that allows private citizens to grant broad sweeping powers to an attorney-in-fact. The paperwork delegates personal financial powers that permit the agent to execute matters concerning the principal’s property, banking, benefits, fiscal responsibilities, etc.

Definition – “Durable power of attorney” means a power of attorney by which a principal designates another as an attorney-in-fact or agent and the authority is exercisable notwithstanding the principal’s subsequent disability or incapacity (§ 17-105(a)).
