Utah Motor Vehicle Power of Attorney Form

The Utah Motor Vehicle Power of Attorney passes controls related to a named vehicle from a legal owner to an appointed agent. The granted agency is reserved to allow a secondary individual to take action and sign for transactions and administrative responsibilities related to the automobile.

Statute – Uniform Power of Attorney Act ( § 75-9-101 – § 75-9-403)

Definition – “Power of attorney” means a writing or other record that grants authority to an agent to act in the place of the principal, whether or not the term power of attorney is used (§ 75-9-102(7)).

Signing Requirements – A notary doesn’t need to corroborate the signing, although it is recommended.
