The South Carolina sublease agreement offers tenants the option of leasing their currently rented property to a third (3rd) party. Although this is a tempting alternative to breaking a lease, the primary lessee must obtain the original landlord’s written consent before the sublet (§ 27-35-60). If approved, the tenant will discuss the terms with the new subtenant and record them in the sublease.
